Daily Activities and Meals
Filling every day with exciting things to do
We structure our activities around the children’s needs, making sure there is always flexibility in the plan to make the most out of anything that gets the children interested and enthusiastic.
A typical morning routine would look something like this;
8.00 Table top activities while the children arrive
8.30 Breakfast choice of cereals, toast, milk and water
9.00 Story and singing time, learning about days, numbers and weather
9.30 Free choices such as role play, construction, creativity, sand and water
10.00 Nappy checks
10.30 Cafe snack time with washing hands emphasised before and after!
11.00 Outside play; climbing, sliding, bikes and discovering nature
11.45 Nappy checks, wash hands and prepare for lunch
This is just a simple example of a typical morning, but every day’s schedule varies greatly so that there’s always something new and exciting happening. We set ourselves clear objectives and targets for every activity to ensure we’re really meeting our goals, whether that’s learning the basics of maths, learning to love the outdoors or just making a mess with finger painting and glitter!
At Noah’s Ark we believe fun and variety make for the best experience for young children. Sometimes we plan quiet activities like story time, other times there’s lots of noise and activity with singing and dancing; everything is designed to let children explore their creativity and get confident with key school skills like using a pencil or recognising numbers and letters.
We are acutely aware of the importance of a child’s diet and plan our menus carefully providing 5 fruit and vegetables per day. All our meals are freshly prepared and nutritiously balanced with fresh water available at all times. We’re also more than happy to cater for special dietary needs and requirements. Breakfast, lunch (a 2 course meal with hot dinner and dessert) and tea are all provided as standard with healthy snacks half way through both the morning and afternoon. What’s more, all food is included in our fees, so there are no hidden prices and you don’t have to worry that your child will be hungry.
You can call us at anytime to learn some more about the activities and the ideas behind them, or to arrange to visit any of our centres and see it all happening!
