Learning is Fun
We think that the best kind of learning happens when the children are having a good time.
We believe strongly that childcare shouldn’t just be about filling time for the children; it’s a great opportunity for them to be learning as well. We therefore provide a range of experiences with good educational value that prepare them for school, but are at the same time lots of fun!
Our dedicated staff plan a whole range of exciting learning activities ensuring that, whatever their age, your child develops in each of the following 6 areas as required by the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum for children aged 0-5 years:
- Personal, social and emotional development
- Communication, language and literacy
- Problem solving, reasoning and numeracy
- Knowledge and understanding of the world
- Physical development
- Creative development
Based on regular discussions with parents and our own informal observations as they play, our staff plan activities that take children to their next stage of development, ensuring that the individual needs of each child are being met. We encourage a free flow of play from inside to outside wherever practical; by creating an ‘outdoor classroom’ we allow children to benefit from fresh air throughout the day.
We actively encourage parents to equip their children with waterproof clothing and wellie boots as well as sunhats and sunglasses so that everyone has complete freedom to enjoy the outside and the natural world around them, always closely supervised by our team in structured learning-play activities.
We know that parents like to be as much a part of their child’s development as possible, so we keep records just like a school and write up reports for everyone listing the things they have done and achieved along with photos of special achievements and lots of copies of their work - a great keepsake of their early years, which parents can access at any time and keep to pass on to primary schools.
Parents are the first and most important educators in any child’s life and we see our time with your children as a partnership with you to give them the best possible start in life, so activities are always planned around feedback and information gathered from every parent we work with!
